Question 1

Is it safe to rent from a stranger on Torkd?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Members verify their identity, payments and payouts run through Stripe, and every rental gets a refundable security deposit. You coordinate pickup and return in the app without sharing your contact info, and both sides review each other after the rental.

Question 2

What happens if an item is damaged or not returned?

Accepted Answer

Refundable security deposits are held safely and returned when the item comes back. If something goes wrong, the owner can file a return report and request a partial or full deposit claim, and our team helps resolve it.

Question 3

Do I have to share my phone number or email?

Accepted Answer

No. You message renters and owners inside Torkd to coordinate pickup, return, and details, so your contact info stays private.

Question 4

How do I get paid when someone rents my item?
